About Jogo Bonito

"Jogo Bonito,” meaning “the beautiful game” in Portuguese, represents a style of soccer deeply rooted in Brazilian culture. It’s more than just a way of playing,  it’s a mindset, a rhythm, and a passion for the game.

Originating from Brazil, Jogo Bonito is known for its creativity, flair, and freedom. It’s the ability to play with confidence, improvise in the moment, and express yourself through skill, movement, and decision making. Players are encouraged to take risks, be unpredictable, and enjoy the game, while still understanding the importance of discipline and teamwork.

At its core, Jogo Bonito is about balance, combining technical excellence with creativity, structure with freedom, and competitiveness with joy. It teaches players not only how to play the game the right way, but how to feel the game and connect with it.

At Jogo Bonito Training, we bring this philosophy into every session. We develop players to work on their first touch as it is the most important touch, so they are comfortable on the ball, confident in their decisions, and unafraid to express themselves. Because when players truly enjoy the game, that’s when they grow the most.

About Rodrigo Honorato

Soccer has been a part of my life from the very beginning. I grew up playing on Martha’s Vineyard and was a part of MV United throughout my youth. My passion for the game led me to compete at higher levels, including time with Cruzeiro’s U16 program in Brazil. I went on to play four years of varsity soccer in high school, serving as team captain for two years, and continued my playing career at Dean College.

My transition into coaching came naturally. I spent four years coaching JV soccer at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, and over the past 10 years, I have been dedicated to developing players through individual and group training. In 2025, I became the Head Coach of the MVRHS Boys Varsity Soccer Program, where I continue to build a culture focused on accountability, development, and team unity.

I currently hold U.S. Soccer licenses for 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11, along with my U.S. Soccer National D License, and I am actively working toward my National C License. My coaching philosophy blends discipline and structure with creativity and flair, inspired by my Brazilian roots.

My goal is to help players reach their full potential, both on and off the field, by building confidence, strong habits, and a true understanding of the game.
